Parents of James Irwin Charter Schools,
As I was retiring from the U.S. Army in 2014, I wondered how I would fill my time. One of the choices I decided to make was to become involved in my children’s education. As a parent of two middle schoolers at the time, I thought that I might be able to contribute to the mission of James Irwin Charter Schools.
I was absolutely correct.
Serving on the Board of Directors for the past four years has been one of the most personally rewarding and fulfilling activities in which I’ve been involved. The dynamic nature of the work and the passion that our parents and staff have exhibited continuously encourage me. On behalf of the Board of Directors, I’d like to invite you to engage in the same opportunity.
The Board of Directors of the James Irwin Charter Schools currently has an open seat. We are a seven-member board of the 501(c)3 nonprofit James Irwin Charter Schools and have the responsibility for the fiscal oversight and adherence to the mission and vision of the schools. In addition to the current open seat, there are opportunities to serve in an advisory capacity at the school level so that you may have a voice in your children’s education.
Those who feel that they can contribute to the James Irwin mission of excellence should send a letter of intent addressed to the President of the Board through the Executive Administrative Assistant either in person or via email at: firstname.lastname@example.org.
The deadline for submitting your letter of intent to be considered to serve on the Board is Friday, October 20, 2017, by 4:00 P.M. It is highly recommended that all interested candidates attend the October 24th Board meeting, held at 6:00 P.M. at the Business Office. There will be a candidate briefing and Q&A on October 31st at 4:00 P.M. with interviews to be conducted between October 31st and November 9th. The new Board member will be seated on November 28th, 2017, during the regularly scheduled JICS Board meeting.
