Coach White enters his first year at the helm of the James Irwin Charter High School boys’ basketball team. Coach White is a retired military wounded warrior. He has trained, mentored, and coached both teams as well as individuals to meet their collegiate and professional sports goals for over thirty two years. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our organization. Coach White has achieved multiple championships and is poised to bring the same to our great school. His innate passion for people, life, and basketball is both contagious and exemplary. Coach White also has an extensive background in radio broadcasting and in ministry. He enjoys spending time with his family, serving the less fortunate, reading, golfing, playing musical instruments, and learning new things. He is married to his best friend, Janet, who is also an Army veteran. They have six children; three girls and three boys ages 15, 19, 22, 24, 26, and 28. Four of their children are currently serving in the Armed Forces, another is attending Colorado Christian University obtaining her teaching degree, and the youngest is a sophomore at James Irwin who is thinking about serving in the Armed Forces as well. They also have a two year old granddaughter, a one year old grandson, and another newly born granddaughter.
