Joy Bears

Mrs. Bears has been teaching since 2010 and was lucky enough to join James Irwin in 2013. Though she always wanted to be a teacher, life took her in other directions, and she did not attend college until much later in life. After graduating from UCCS, she was able to realize her dream of becoming a teacher. She is state licensed in both secondary English education and in elementary education. Having a passion for reading, learning, and students, teaching provided the perfect career for her, and James Irwin Charter High school provided the perfect place to teach, learn, grow, and share her passion with students.
