Katie McKim

Mrs. McKim joined the James Irwin family last spring as Assistant Librarian and JV girls’ soccer coach. This fall she moved into the position of Anatomy & Physiology teacher, PE Coach and Jags assistant coach for Cross Country.

The McKims are an active-duty military family, and her husband is a Lt. Colonel, 2004 Academy graduate, who is working at NORAD North Com on a 3-year assignment. They have one daughter who is a Junior at James Irwin and one son who is a freshman at Doherty High School.

Originally from Nebraska, they have been stationed all over the United States since 2004.  Mrs. McKim started her career in education as a substitute teacher in Illinois in 2015 when they were stationed at Scott Air Force Base and continued to work as a special education paraprofessional from 2017-2021 in Virgina and South Carolina.
