Mary Aquino
Assistant Principal
Mary Aquino accepted the position of Assistant Principal of James Irwin Charter Middle School in the summer of 2017. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Business Management from the University of Guam. Mary started her career in education in 2002 as a high school teacher of business management classes (entrepreneurship, general business, economics, and computer applications). She then relocated to Colorado Springs, Colorado, where she enrolled in a master’s program for education at the University of Phoenix. In the year 2007, Mary started working for JICMS as a sixth-grade teacher’s assistant and quickly entered the role as 6th grade teacher after graduating with her master’s degree. She has since worked in various positions at JICMS such as math teacher, keyboarding teacher, and instructional coach. Mary has a passion for developing positive relationships with everyone who crosses her path, working with students as they grow, supporting teachers and staff so they can reach their greatest potential, and fostering a positive school culture. She believes that by working together, we can instill a passion for learning that will take students to the next level of success in their life. Her experiences at JICMS and its educational beliefs and values are what keeps her motivated.
