Academics

The academics at James Irwin Elementary - Howard Campus are renouned.  Our "College Kindergarten" teaches students to read, write cursive, learn math facts, learn world geography, study heroes and memorize the Preamble to the Constitution and many other pieces of poetry and sayings.

The winning combination of Direct Instruction, E.D. Hirsch's Core Knowledge scope and sequence, cursive first philosophy, the study of good character, and the emphasis on learning about Western Heritage makes James Irwin Elementary -- Howard Campus a fantastic elementary school.
