11th grade students will continue on a pathway of their choice. They have an opportunity to switch during an advisement meeting in the spring of their 10th-grade year and the spring of their 11th-grade year. All CTE classes are for one full year and the student needs to get a C- or better.
If an 11th-grade student plans to attend PPSC (Pikes Peak State College) for the two-year tuition-free program (course materials, general fees, and textbooks paid for by the student), PTEC will provide concurrent enrollment classes at PTEC while attending high school classes. This will help them adapt to college life with extra support from the Career Development Advisor and Assistant.
12th grade students will be able to attend PPSC part-time (minimum of 10 credits hour per semester) and finish their PTEC graduation requirement classes at the same time. PTEC has a partnership with PPSC through a state program called P-TECH (Pathways in Technology, Early College High Schools). This program allows students to attend PPSC tuition-free for two additional years after graduation. Students are responsible for the cost of all course fees, textbooks, and any other fees that are charged beyond the tuition.
ILOP - Students must meet all graduation requirements to be part of this program. They will attend their remaining classes needed for graduation and then can work in a trade with one of our workforce partners. Sign-up for the ILOP program must be done through Mrs. Longoria.
