Notice to Parents Regarding Information on Sex Offenders
The Colorado General Assembly requires school districts in Colorado to provide information to parents and eligible students (students who are 18 years of age or older) identifying where and how members of the community may obtain information collected by law enforcement agencies related to registered sex offenders. In compliance with this statutory directive, James Irwin Charter Schools is providing the following internet search links of the various law enforcement authorities. Interested parents, eligible students and community members may contact their local law enforcement agency to seek further information about registered sex offenders residing in these jurisdictions.

Senate Bill 03-072
Senate Bill 03-072 requires that all Colorado school districts notify parents that they have the right to access law enforcement agency information concerning registered sex offenders. Additional information can be found at the Colorado Bureau of Investigation’s web site at www.sor.state.co.us.

James Irwin Charter Schools uses the Standard Response Protocol (SRP) when communicating with our staff, parents, and community partners. The SRP is the accepted terminology that is used by our emergency responders, Colorado Springs Police Department, and the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office when responding to an active or potential school emergency. The SRP is supported for use by our district partners, Harrison School District #2, School District #49 and CSI. The application of this common terminology allows us, as a community, to inform, react, and respond to any emergency quickly and effectively in our mission to keep our students safe.
