Rob Daugherty, CEO James Irwin Charter Schools

Dear James Irwin Charter Schools Families,

I am reaching out today to reassure you about the safety and privacy of your children at our schools, especially in light of concerns about potential federal immigration enforcement actions.

At James Irwin Charter Schools, we prioritize the well-being of our students above all else. Please be assured that we do not collect or store information regarding the immigration status of our students or their families, which means we cannot and do not determine which students could be affected by immigration enforcement actions.

We understand that the idea of such enforcement at schools can be unsettling. However, as CEO, I believe it is highly unlikely that public schools like ours will be targeted for these actions. Schools are historically recognized as safe spaces for learning and growth, and we are committed to maintaining this trust.

Please know that we will only release personal information about a student or allow access to a student under two circumstances: with formal written permission from a parent or guardian or with a judicial warrant or subpoena. A document signed solely by an ICE agent does not meet the required standard, and without proper judicial authorization, we will neither disclose information nor acknowledge a student’s enrollment at our school.

Our commitment to your children’s safety and education remains steadfast. Thank you for trusting us with this critical responsibility.

Sincerely,

Rob Daugherty

CEO
